Cant delete AVG Anti-Virus. Access denied in admin?!?

I tried a simple uninstall %26 delete of AVG;

At XP startup it tells me that my licence has run out (it has but i dont intend to renew it) so i:

- ran setup.exe -%26gt; Uninstall program -%26gt; apparantly successful but a restart tells me the licence still needs renewing

- Remove Items in Ctrl Panel -%26gt; it went to same setup.exe prog, same result

- tried deleteing the whole AVG folder -%26gt; Access Denied, some exe %26 dll files are apparantly write protected or in use (in admin)

- stopped avg processes in task manager

- try first 3 again, no progress

- restart in safe mode, try first 4 again. AVG was not visible in ctrl panel and processes not running, however i still cant delete the folder (access still denied or in use)

- deleted grisoft and avg folders from docs%26settings/allusers

- try first 3 again, no progress

- update 7.1-%26gt;7.5 (DLoad-%26gt;AVG site) -%26gt;retry all the above

- used regedit to delete AVG from ctrl panel -%26gt; removed from ctrl panel but cant delete, access denied. Any other ideas?

I had AVG for pay antivirus, and it expired due to non payment. Then I simply downloaded AVG free and AVG for pay is now gone.
Are you restarting? Try a search for all 'AVG' files (including hidden). Go to the CONTROL PANEL/FOLDER OPTIONS. Make sure there is a check mark in SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS.

I have AVG free version. I've been running it for 3 years or more. Never had a virus with it installed.

If you have been working on it for a long time maybe you need to take a break. Sounds like your trying lots of things. Maybe it is just simple and your too tired to think right now.
