Personal opinion - Avast Home Edition (www.avast.com). Free, updates itself on its own every couple of days and is fast.

I would suggest AVG Pro which you can buy online, you get 2 years for the price of the other one. (anti virus protection only) it's not a security suite
First i used Norton 2005, but eventually, i understood that norton is taking so much memory for loading and scanning.

Later, i changed to AVG. But it was only good in detecting and not in healing the virus.

Finally i got this Avast Home Edition and it is the best anti-virus i have ever seen. it is only taking less memory and also it is detecting and killing the virus.

I would surely recommend Avast.

Follow the link to f-secure and try their on-line scan and then they do a 21 day free trial. They really give you the software free - it's the updates you pay for. It's more expensive than most other products but works much better. they do a family pack of 3 licenses cheap too. If you bank with Barclay's ask them if they can get you a discount. I got a discount for F-secure anti virus and firewall for my desktop and I got the F-secure anti virus for my laptop through Barclay's free until 2007! Free is always my preferred price... LOL
