Zone Alarm is a strong firewall. It has 3 levels of protection. Incoming, outgoing and internal. Internal is great because if something gets by, it will alert you to "suspicious" activity in your computer. ZA also provide instant messenger protection against IM worms and Trojans.
I totally agree with the first post, if those are the options your giving, Go with AVG and Microsofts free antispyware. McAfee has over bloated there security sweet and it takes FOREVER to tweak so that it doesnt stop you from doing what you want to with your PC online (gaming, internet, email, network file sharing, etc...)

ZoneAlarm is another product that just brings PCs to a crawl because of its overachieviing security settings and inefficient system processes it runs.
