Whats a good anti virus/spyware combo?anti virus software
This is MY "cocktail" of FREE anti-malware progs for my Windows installation:
Avast AV = MUCH better than AVG ever THOUGHT of...I _used_ to use AVG until it got to be a bloated-do-little!
Get Avast here:

Spybot Search %26 Destroy does a LOT more that just protect against spyware when used in Advanced Mode. Get it here:

Ad-Aware se Personal is a GREAT compliment to SS%26D. It looks for some stuff that SS%26D doesn't and can catch other stuff that SS%26D MAY miss. Why depend upon only ONE database, anyway? Get A-A se P here:

I've not used CCleaner, but have heard nothing but GOOD things about it. Check it out here:
http://www.ccleaner.com/
I use three Pop-up Blockers: The one in Win XP SP2, Google and Yahoo Toolbars. Between them all I RARELY have a Pop-up I don't want. However, I did have to "train" them like a firewall to allow what I WANTED.
Comodo Firewall is a good Free one. Get it here:

I haven't installed it YET, but do use the "firewall" in XP SP 2 backed up by my HARDWARE one in my WIRED router! Yes, as with AVs you are only supposed to use ONE Software firewall! BUT you CAN back it up with a Hardware one for ADDED protection!
