I have been back and forth with them. They told me to uninstall and re-install and it's still taking forever. I keep asking them if there is a way to do a quick scan so it doesn't go through every single thing file. They email these very difficult procedures to go through and nothing works. It just has to be a setting but I can't find the setting to change. Help!!!

Trend Micro is an excellent company and they have a good product. Bill Gates uses them to protect the MSN website.
For whatever reason, this program may not work on your computer, or with your configuration. Nobody is forcing you to continue beating yourself up over this issue or program. Dump it.

These are both excellent programs that won't conflict with other software or the operating system.
Half the world uses AVG, and it's very simple and fast.
Avast has a few extra features, but runs a little slower, and appeals more to the gadget crowd.
But if you already have a virus, removing it may be more difficult than any simple or free program can handle.
