AVG or AVAST. They are both free to download and use.

AntiVir (www.free-av.com) is also free and has a smaller footprint in memory that either AVG or Avast. This makes it very good for laptops and machines that are shy on RAM. It also doesn't require you to renew with a new product key avery few months, as does Avast.
AVG Home edition = Free.
Doesn't bog down the system like most commercial products [i.e. Norton].
Still, if you feel the need to purchase some commercial software for piece of mind, I'd suggest McAfee.

You have a Yahoo account already, go use Yahoo. They have a lite edition with good antivirus protection that is free. Works real good for me.
