For all Norton Anti-Virus users....?

I switched my computer on this morning and the following occured. Norton system icon started flashing red, warning that the system was corrupt and needs immediate attention. After clcking on the icon, i got the following message. 'Error 10,1053 DLL could not be found. It gave a 3 step guide what to do next. The first step was to remove the Norton system with a download tool in, which was in step 2. After removing Norton, it then asked to put The original disks back in the cd-drive. After several minutes another message appeared on screen saying, 'Error. Works file cannot read', and then it said re-boot computer from resart, which I did. As my computer came back on, Bingo-on-line, booted up. It said thanks for downloading Games-on-line, and downloaded all attatchments onto my computer. All my task bars have dissappeared and my Screen is filled with this gambling icon. Ihave since re-booted my computer from the recovery disks I made months ago. But I cannot download my Norton Systems dis

The original error message was probably a trojan, and you downloaded a 'tool' that has trashed your system.



It is still on your machine and preventing you from re-installing Norton. I'm not sure if you'll be able to recover anything safely from this; the easiest route will be a reformat, shred the hard drive, and reinstall Windows from scratch. If you can download and install any other security software then try running it in Safe Mode.And in future, never click on one of these links. No security doftware can work if you switch it off, disable it or uninstall it.
