Whats a good anti virus protection for a good price?liveupdate
Norton Anti-Virus is good. If you have extra cash, go for Norton Internet Security (this is anti-virus + firewall).
You will also get "live updates" of virus definitions from time to time. I am currently using Norton Internet Security.
It is not that expensive, if there is a sale, you can buy Norton AV at about $30 or Norton IS at about $45. After the first copy, there is normally a coupon offer where you return your old copy of Norton for a rebate. So it will only costs about maybe $15. I buy a new version every 2 years or so.
For $15, this is a good investment. It protects my online shopping, credit card info etc. I don't bother with those free anti-virus software found on the net. With Norton, there is tech support and for a company that charges its product, they will make sure the product do what it's build to do.

I highly recommend Avast, it's free and through my personal testing has caught more then or the same amount of viruses as the pay AV solutions.
AVG
Well for free...
Avast Anti Virus: Has a very updated antivirus database, and scans and cleans very well. A-
AVG: Updates everyday, but is slow and a little laggy on pc's with lower amounts of RAM, pretty decent scanning. B+
Zone Alarm: Ok database and fast running. B
Well for a good price...
Norton: I hate norton. Slow, and charges way to much for what it offers. C
McAffee: Slow and resource eater. Clean and scans well. Definitly a background program. A-
Defender PRO: Fast. Comes with lots of things for a cheap price. Not as big a database as others. B
WinPatrol, Avira, Zone Alarm...free versions...
