I actually found that Norton 360 is the best one to have, it took care of all my pop-ups and spyware problems.

Norton is great for viruses. but for pop ups they are not the appropriate tool.

Try yahoo tool bar that has popup blocker and sypware remover.

Also download Adware sypware remover from Lavasoft.

and finally you might also want to install a firewall to prevent future infections from reocurring. I recommend ZoneAlarm.
