You have the mybul virus.It will be resident in the hkey of your registary.DO NOT GO ON THE INTERNET If you do it will auto upload your bios settings and corrupt them.If it does this the only way to get rid is to either wipe out your bios (which will render your computer useless) or replace the hard drive which was running windows at the time.If you have a computer which is not affected use that to download the "mybul-detox.exe" file and run that.It will quarentine your affected blocks but at least you will have a working computer.
First of all, some viruses and malware attack and disable antivirus software. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling McAfee from scratch, that should solve the problem. I do agree with others here that McAfee really isn't the best choice for antivirus protection, but since you've already got it and just renewed your account with them you might as well make use of it. Hope this helps.
I've had nothing but problems with my computer since I installed McAfee! My screen freezes up soon as I go online. And stays that way for 10-20 minutes !Even the keyboard locks up...After some time,all of a sudden,it works...Did you get a notice that the update was a ok?
With no error or a description of what is happening, we cannot help you.
Honestly, i'd pick up Trend Micro's PCCillin antivirus next time. Good luck
