Can Symantec's Anti virus for business' pick up flash drives on the network?

I am a county tech and one of the things I did was do this test on an isolated computer.

First off: I absolutely despise symantec anti-virus but its not up to us to decide.

Back on topic...

I loaded a lot of viruses both encrypted, compressed, binded, and a few keyloggers and keylogger installers onto a flash drive and plugged it in

Symantec detected all of the .zip and all but 1 of the .rar viruses. It missed 3 binded files but removed the rest [I believe there were 10] and it missed 2 keyloggers but removed all of the keylogger install files.

It does an ok job but I know of programs which do much better.
