If you have Norton go to this sight and use the Norton Removal Tool. Then go to CCleaner to remove orphaned files or another cleaner is Windows Live Cleaner. http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsg...

you may not be able to delete or unistall it, even if you go to search tool, the only antedote is to backup your files and format your hardisk and install a fresh windows.
TYPE in AVG FREE VIRUS
Ignore any answers telling you to delete the individual files in the application's directory. You do this with Norton and you can get a machine lock up on shut down. Also most applications put files in other places than their main directory e.g. windows\system and they put entries into the system registry. If everything associated with the application is not deleted you can run into problems.
i just ran into Norton Internet Security not uninstalling properly, i had to actually put the CD in and run the uninstaller from there and it worked perfect.
download avast antivirus and scan ur computer. if that doesnt work, try aviva and do the same thing. also, try ad-aware or spybot search and destroy. best part, all free!
I have had this happen with my old and terrible norton.
